Your fans are highly anticipating the forthcoming release of your full length album, ‘Standing On Giant Shoulders' , what can we expect from this new work? Its title references the impact on music made by James Brown, Bobby Brown, and Miles Davis. What aspects of these artists do you work to emulate in your music? Take us on your journey from feeling and knowing your inspiration to producing your craft.
You can expect the results of an artist putting actual time and care into creating a timeless piece of art you can live and grow with. And it wasn’t the music that pushed me towards them but more so how they “owned the moment”… in their prime. Each of them went stepped into the spotlight fearless and on top of that their work ethic was to perfection. It’s simple.. they’d show up, show out, and go home. So that’s what I mean by “Standing on Giant shoulders” I started attacking this project with all 3 of their musical ego’s in mind, making sure it all look good, sound good, and most importantly feel good.
Your music is loved and often referenced for having a future-facing sound that also nods at nostalgia and the past eras that shaped music. How do you approach the challenge of paying homage to our foundations, while also pushing the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop, and what role does experimentation play in your artistic journey?
It’s all a natural feeling, I’m just clashing all my inspirations in song form. A lot of different genres of music was played in my household growing up so I don’t have any boundaries, I only know how a song is suppose to make you feel, so maybe that’s why in todays time where most artist don’t care about all that.. those who do, will stick out and give you that nostalgic feeling cause it’s connected to an era where music moved people’s spirit. And all the artists before my time is the reason why I’m doing music so I’ll always pay homage in some form or fashion.

From throwing wild bowling nights to pampering your dog with at-home spa treatments, you seem to infuse elements of your personality and lifestyle into your music and public persona. How do these personal experiences influence your creative process, and what do you hope listeners take away from the world you've created through your music and person?
People love being able to relate with an artist in any kind of way. By this time in my life I’ve seen and been apart of some extraordinary things that most people won’t get to experience in a lifetime and yes, I will mention those moments… but on the flip side to that, the lil homie in my old neighborhood won’t have clue about what I’m speaking on. So I think it’s cool to highlight and big-up everything like chilling with my grandma, or watering the plants etc. that way everybody can say “that’s my song” when it plays cause it’s relatable in every angle.

Don’t expect, don’t assume… just listen and allow yourself to feel what’s going on. Like I said my list of inspiration in infinite so at any moment I can go from Anita Baker or the Smashing Pumpkins and the next project could be inspired by lil Wayne or the BeeGees who knows. I see my music evolving based on the time, effort and knowledge I’m putting in creating. Every session I learn something new.
Embracing an infinite spectrum of influences, from Anita Baker to Lil Wayne, Seafood Sam’s given food for thought about the importance of allowing oneself to feel music without preconceptions. With his musical craftsmanship and career guided by curiosity and creativity, the future holds endless possibilities.
